About Grumo Media:

Grumo was started by me back in October 2010
Since then we’ve done hundreds of demo videos for companies of all types and sizes.
Some clients include Microsoft, Walmart, Fidelity Investments, Halifax Bank, Savings.com, and even Ashton Kutcher.. yep that one was a fun one 🙂

Pricing:

The next step after we reply to your inquiry is to set up a call to find out more about your project to determine how much and how long it will take to produce your video.

To give you an idea our typical video rate for startups is $7K per minute and it takes about 4-5 weeks to produce. Our prices for larger corporations or companies that require more complex videos start at $10K per minute.

We aim to keep all demo videos under 90 secs as our research indicates that viewer retention drops considerably after that. People have no patience these days!

Once we determine the budget we will send you an animation contract.
We will start production as soon as the contract is signed, we get the project brief completed, and received a 50 percent deposit based on the first minute of animation.
So for a $10K/min animation the deposit would be $5K even if the animation ends up being longer than 60 seconds.

Production Stages:

Project brief – Tell us about your product, deadline, provide logo, tagline, colour palette, screen shots, sample demo videos you like and anything you want to show in the video)
Script
Storyboarding (we sketch the visuals associated to each line of the script)
Voiceover (we need to know whether you prefer male or female. Will provide options)
Style Frames (determine colors, main characters, and overall style)
Illustration (assets, characters, backgrounds)
Animation (longest and most difficult stage)
Sound Design (we’ll add sound effects and background music is optional but included in the budget)

About Feedback:

We need your approval in order to move to the next production stage so to meet your deadline it is very important that you and your team provide feedback as soon as possible.
For instance if we don’t hear from you for a week after we send you the first draft of the script that is a week where the production is not moving forward.

Revisions:

We grant at least one round of revisions per stage.
This is usually more than enough to complete every stage.
However some times clients have trouble making up their mind so in order to cover our costs we only charge after revisions go over 10% of the whole budget.
So if the animation is $10K we include $1K worth of revisions.
After that we charge additional revisions at $150 per hour.

Revisions charges also apply for any changes requested after a stage has been approved.
For instance if we are at the animation stage and you decide to change the script that means we will need to at least redo the voice over, and the storyboard.
Because all those stages were previously approved we’ll charge you for the changes by the hour at the same rate of $150/hr.

Final Payment:

Once you give us final approval for the entire animation we will send you the final invoice based on the total final duration of the animation.
We usually charge on 15 sec increments so if your animation happens to be 70 secs we will usually only charge you for the first 60 secs. Nice uh?

We will send you the full resolution video files as soon as we receive the final payment.
We can make exceptions if you need the video right away or your accounting department is very slow at processing payments.
