ReturnFromChina is a free-to-play adventure game, offering students an exciting new way to learn to speak basic Mandarin Chinese.

Players unearth mysterious clues as they travel across China, communicating with the locals. Words and phrases are taught by example, using our state-of-the-art speech engine.

Players respond in Chinese by clicking the record button with their mouse or spacebar, and our cloud API assesses pronunciation, allowing them to advance only after correctly speaking the desired word or phrase.

The spacebar can also be used to skip over speech, speeding up gameplay.
As the game progresses, students gradually transition from English to
Chinese, improving each step of the way.
