Grumo Media turns 3 years old!

3 years ago I started Grumo Media. The official date was Oct 10, 2010 which is when I registered the Grumo Media domain and Twitter account.

Before starting Grumo I had spent 1.5 years building a startup that went nowhere. My original idea was to launch a subscription based project management tool.

I never thought I’d be running an animation studio producing short animated demo videos for a living.

No regrets! from day one it has been an amazing experience.
In the beginning it was just me but very soon after producing my second demo video things got really busy and I started contracting help to keep up with the demand.

We are still a small studio. Depending how busy we are we have 10 to 20 people working for us from all parts of the world. Grumo is built to be a fast, nimble, an efficient video producing machine.

To this day we’ve never spent a dollar in advertising or pursuing sales.
Most of our clients come through word of mouth. It is a very organic way of growing.

Our marketing approach is as simple and straightforward as our videos.
Produce great demo videos, make our clients happy, and more clients will come.
So far it has worked very well for us!

Our first videos were for small startups. But somehow we got discovered by big companies like Microsoft and Walmart.

I don’t really know exactly how these big companies found us, but they did!
Probably a friend of a friend told them: Hey! you should check one of those Grumo videos.
So they did and the rest is history. Woot!
