Today, Grumo Media turns 1 year old!
It was 1 year ago that I created a little spec demo video for Hipmunk.com while I was vacationing in Hawaii with the wife and in-laws.
Little did I know how much my life was going to change 2 weeks later when Alexis Ohanian proudly posted my video on the official Hipmunk blog.
In the ensuing days, dozens of requests for demo videos poured into my email and Grumo Media quickly became known in Silicon Valley as a great studio to get a demo video done for your startup.
My first client after Hipmunk was no less than Trevor Blackwell co-founder of YCombinator and creator of Anybots.
As a true geek myself it was a thrill to have a chance to explain what Anybots are and be one of the first people in the world to operate one remotely!
Soon after I would get a request to produce a demo video from one of Silicon Valley’s youngest and most successful entrepreneurs, Jessica Mah of inDinero.
One of the highlights of the year was when Ashton Kutcher tweeted to his back then 6+ million Twitter followers that he loved the video I did for PadMapper.com
Since then I have been approached by dozens of startups, met many great founders and CEO’s, flown to companies to meet with creative teams, interviewed on prominent websites, but most importantly, I’ve had the great blessing of doing something I love for people I admire and respect tremendously.
I decided early on I wanted to diversify the Grumo brand ala Richard Branson by offering other products beside producing demo videos.
My first attempt at diversifying was by producing a 10 hour course teaching everything I know about creating Grumo videos.
It took a couple of months to put together but the results were worth the investment as now there are hundreds of Grumo students around the world learning how to explain their startups the Grumo way!
Building a company from scratch by yourself is a hell of a challenge full of ups and downs but surely one of the most exciting endeavours one can experience in life. If you are still unsure what to do in life don’t settle until you find your true passion. You only live once so you may as well do everything you can to make sure you get to do what you love, right?
Grumo is really just a baby, a 1 year old baby, and I feel like a proud father looking forward to see this baby grow wise, strong and successful.
People seem to like this baby Grumo, over the last year it has slowly but surely gathered over 400 Facebook fans and recently this blog has beaten the 100 thousand page views a month mark.
All of this could not have happened without the support of my dear clients, students and fans around the world and that is why I want to express my gratitude to all of you that have been with Grumo since its beginning.
A million thanks for spreading the Grumo love, for watching my videos, for taking my classes, for hiring our services and for making this entrepreneurial dream a wonderful reality.
Gracias amigos, Grumo loves you back!

Congrats! and much success to the years to come. Have been amazing to see all the work you and your team have pulled in such little amount of time. Also, there was no question that your course would be a hit since I saw how passionate you are from that interview with Andrew. The knowledge that you put into it, in the processes, are ageless techniques, regardless the software used. More valuable than many technical courses that one see around.
Congrats
Thanks a lot Lenny, you have to be the most loyal Grumo fan for sure!
Hope to be around for a lot longer delivering awesomeness!
