Fabian Pallares of Collective Change took the Grumo Course and has produced a really neat and funny demo video for his startup. Here it is:
I asked Fabian to share his experience creating his first animated demo video:
How long did it take to put together?
What took the longest was learning After Effects, I wanted to learn more than the basics, (to prevent massive anxiety build up I didn’t log the time) but making all the characters and animation took about 3 days- approximately 20+ hrs.
How did you record the voice over?
I used headphones with a microphone built into them, like you did on your course videos. With a little audio correction using Garage Band.
What was the hardest part?
The hardest part was putting together a storyboard with the SUCCESS principles, without wanting to work on the animation before I finished the story board. ( Which I struggled with the entire time).
What was the simplest part?
The simplest part was watching the Grumo Course Tutorials- LOL. It was super easy to watch, follow instructions and create! (it’s when I over thought something that I ran into problems).
Where did you find the music?
I used SFX from pond5 and music from soundcloud.com, and then edited using Garage Band.
How did you find about the Grumo course?
I saw a book trailer that I wanted to recreate in a way, so I got on google and did a billion searches and ran into Grumo and it had the stick factor for me.
How did the Grumo Course help you?
The Grumo course gave me the behind the scenes to the production of the video from start to finish. Which demystified all the misconceptions I had, of a huge budget- incredibly talented marketing geniuses needed to create a video such the once I’ve seen. So I got all the CONFIDENCE I needed to tackle the task, and on top of that all the TOOLS and METHODS necessary to do so with a winning formula.
What other places online have helped you learn to put together this demo video?
To learn how to do the animation I went to many sites that had After Effects tutorials like; aetuts.com, videopilot.net, lynda.com, et cetera. But to write and create the video’s substance I only used Grumo’s Training Course. It was a simple formula to follow and execute.
Thanks a lot Fabian for taking the time to answer my questions.
