  • I like it and the 10 day turnaround is unbelievable!

I don’t know though… I really liked the normal Grumo style. I also wonder if the added cost is worth it? When the simple 2D can be just as effective? What do you think Miguel? I love the new site by the way!

    • I am debating this myself. Traditional Grumo simplicity is very effective as well.
However some companies want a certain look to showcase their brand.
It is a subconscious association game, if the video looks and feels luxurious so does the brand. That’s why you won’t see many Rolex commercials looking like a typical Grumo.
I also think simpler is more effective to explain concepts but at the same time I also enjoy trying new things to build a more diverse portfolio and challenge my animators.
      Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

      • That makes a lot of sense. What I would really like as the owner of the company is when you look at your line of videos to the right, its very obvious which one stands out the most. That right there can make the extra investment worth it.I also love your point about trying something new and challenging your animators. The projects I enjoy the most are the ones in new uncharted territory. It can be scary at times, but definitely rewarding! One of the things I love about your company is how while each video is unique they all have that very distinct style. (simple hand drawn style elements on a white background) but at the same time its important to have a diverse portfolio in order to attract new clients. I mean shoot, in gave you $14000 in business in 10 days!

        • Thanks! Now we are working on the first video with no voiceover at all, it relies completely on visuals and a clever sound track.
I hope we can get it done sometime next week.
Variety is what makes life so interesting 😉

this is amazing miguel. your team is superb! I didn’t think you walked entirely of your original style, these still were cartoonish but with more depth, and fresh from one is used to see around. LOVE the Grumos!

    • Thanks Lenny, I love to try new things, sometimes I’ll get it right sometimes I won’t, but either way I’ll make sure the process is as much fun as possible for everyone involved.

  • Darron

    Hey Miguel

Great work! What software did you use, After Effects?
I’m slightly confused though why you put so much work into the animation but the vo is always the same person!

    • Hi Darron, that is my voice man! It is what gives magic to the Grumo videos.  The funny accent that has been with me even after having lived in Canada for 15 years. To my surprise many clients specifically request that I do the voiceovers even though I am not a professional voiceover artist.

      • Türker Tuncer

        very nice !
What software did you use for 3d part ? 4d?

  • Kelly Rush

Very cool, and thanks for sharing your insight into the industry (costs, etc.) Fantástico work!
