Great demo video using Keynote by a Grumo Student

Here is an example of a great demo video created with Keynote by Paul Lopes from rForm.

Paul was on a tight budget but really wanted a demo video for his new startup so decided to take the Grumo Course to learn to write and produce a great demo video.

Here is how Paul put this video together:

How long did it take to put together?
One full day of work. Then another day for changes after feedback from our team.

How did you record the voice over?
I used my iphone. Recorded in a basement closet here in the office. Had not thought of using a blanket at the time.

What was the hardest part?
I guess doing the voice over was difficult too simply because I hate hearing my own voice and getting the right tone was necessary. Like you say on your course I tried sounding natural but it turned out to be harder than I thought.

What was the simplest part?
Script is the hardest. Animating and the design stuff is pretty easy.

Where did you find the music?
I made it in Garage Band. Just added a few stock loops et voila. I can send you the track if you want.

How did you find about the Grumo course?
A friend of mine told me about you yesterday at lunch. I guess he had found out about you from hacker news.

How did the Grumo Course help you?
It has simplified things by providing a concrete process as to how I can build a proper demo video.

What other places online have helped you learn to put together this demo video?
I guess just watching other demo videos in general may have helped.

Thanks to Paul Lopes from rForm for letting me re-post his demo video here. Great job Paul!

Awesome Harsha! It’s good you noticed that so when you make your own demo video you’ll make sure to speak loud and clear 😉
Thanks for getting the course, I hope you enjoy it and learn a lot!

Nice, but vocal is low and it needs to be at least a minute. It was way too short.

Awesome job!!! How did you get the transitions and animations to synch with the narration and music background?

Hi Jeff, the trick is to record the voiceover first and then sync the animation to it. Using ScreenFlow or Camtasia you can easily edit your video to ensure everything matches perfectly in the end. Cheers
